Ask A Pilot!

Aviation Questions Answered By Airline Pilots

About Us

Since the very first airplane flight people have been very curious about Aviation. There are so very many aircraft now flying for different airlines across many routes all over the world. The average person gets quite curious about the various aspects of aviation and flight. Questions often come up such as “How do airplanes get lift?”, “How fast can a B-777 go?” and “How many gallons of fuel does it take to cross the Atlantic Ocean?”

The answers to these questions shouldn’t be mysterious! But often the average person doesn’t know who or where to turn to, to get an answer. Yes in the internet age it seems with just a “click” you can find an answer, but quite often it takes more research or knowledge of a particular subject to find an answer. At “Ask A Pilot!” we have experienced airline pilots that will give you those answers because they have that knowledge and experience.

Who We Are

We are a group of Airline Pilots that have enormous experience in all aspects of Aviation. This includes everything from knowing how to fly an airliner, experience with weather, knowledge of flight operations and more. The experience of many years flying for a major airline gives us the knowledge necessary to answer almost any Aviation related question. Pilots love talking shop! So that when we get a question about Aviation, it is actually fun for us to give an answer.

One of our goals is to use our Aviation related experience to make “Ask A Pilot” to promote both understanding and an interest in Aviation. Flying in an airliner has become so commonplace that we often lose sight at just what a miracle flying is. Modern airliners are truly technological wonders. From computers in the cockpit to ultra-modern and efficient jet engines a modern airliner is the ultimate time machine connecting one distant continent with another.

The Future of Aviation

The Future of Aviation is very bright. We often get questions on where we think various aspects of the aviation world are going. Each technological advance often brings some sort of enhancement to aircraft and flight operations. So that something as simple as increasing the fuel efficiency of an airliner by 10% might mean that many more destinations are possible on a single tank of jet fuel. Advances in cockpit computers might mean more efficient use of airspace so that there are less flight delays.

New technology brings with it both fascination for the improvement itself but also an innate curiosity on the part of users of the system. We are happy to answer questions where the future of aviation lies too.
